Hung Thinh Land, a local real estate company, will provide a sponsorship package worth VND100 billion (US$4.3 million) to help Vietnam fulfill their dream of reaching the finals of the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Hung Thinh Land has become the largest sponsor of Vietnamese women’s football after the firm signed a sponsorship agreement with the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) in Hanoi on Monday.
The joint stock company will disburse the fund from January 1, 2020 to December 31, 2024, according to the deal.
Hung Thinh Land said that it wants to provide funds for the VFF to pay the players, finance youth training, and cover nutrition costs so Vietnamese women’s football can thrive.
This agreement will give a boost to Vietnam’s efforts to advance to the finals of the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
“The VFF treasures the sponsorship and thanks Hung Thinh Land for its accompanying Vietnamese football in general and the national women’s team in particular,” Le Hoai Anh, general secretary of the football governing body, said at the signing ceremony.

“This funding will encourage the national team and young players to strive for excellent results.
“Vietnamese women’s football has never made it to the finals of the FIFA Women's World Cup even though we have won the Southeast Asian Games title for sixth times, ranking 32nd globally.
“FIFA is considering increasing the number of slots in the Women’s World Cup finals from 24 to 42 and the event may be organized once in two years rather than every four years like the present.
“Our dream is Vietnam will qualify for the FIFA Women’s World Cup finals one day thanks to Hung Thinh Land’s support.”
The Hung Thinh Land deal will supply 50-55 percent of the funds needed to strive for the FIFA Women’s World Cup finals, Anh added.
“We hope that Vietnamese women’s football will rise to higher positions on the global scale with our support,” said Le Trong Khuong, general director of Hung Thinh Land.
Each year, the company will donate VND20 billion for the VFF to develop women’s football, Khuong said.
Hung Thinh Land is a member of Hung Thinh Corporation with 18 years of experience in real estate.

Hung Thinh Corporation had also signed a separate agreement with the VFF to pay for the salaries of South Korean coach Park Hang Seo and other coaching staff of the national men’s football team in 2020-22.
The national women’s football team defeated Thailand 1-0 in extra time to claim their sixth Southeast Asian Games gold medal on December 8.
Hung Thinh Corporation then rewarded the team with VND1 billion ($43,155) and their coaching staff with VND300 million ($12,946).
At the ceremony to sign the agreement between Hung Thinh Land and the VFF, Vice-State President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh thanked the company its long-term commitment to backing the development of Vietnamese football.
