Ho Chi Minh City will host the 2024 Teqball World Championship in December, attracting participants from 90 countries and territories.
Teqball is a ball sport that is played on a curved table, combining elements of sepak takraw and table tennis.
The championship, jointly held by the municipal government and the International Teqball Federation, is set to take place between December 3 and 8 on Nguyen Hue Pedestrian Street and Le Loi Boulevard, as well as in Lam Son Park and Bach Dang Wharf Park in District 1.
The 2024 Teqball World Championship marks the 10th anniversary of the invention of the sport.
The event is expected to help boost sports cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and cities in countries which are strategic partners of Vietnam, while serving the city’s fast and sustainable development target for 2020-25 and the action plan of its cultural diplomacy strategy until 2030.
Hosting the 2024 Teqball World Championship proves the development and global integration of sports in Ho Chi Minh City and Vietnam as a whole.
The event will be an opportunity to promote Vietnam’s people and culture to international friends and affirm the country’s ability to organize and operate large-scale sporting events.
