The Consulates General of France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, and the Netherlands will jointly organize a Christmas charity market at the French Residence from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm this Saturday, with the aim of bringing European festive cheers to the Vietnamese city.

This will be the first European Christmas market in the southern metropolis.

Covering over 1.5 hectares of land in downtown Ho Chi Minh City, the French Residence is home to many old trees and a range of animal species, such as weasels, squirrels, and birds.

At the upcoming Christmas market, the gardens of the French Residence will be transformed into a magical place with the scent of traditional Christmas cakes and mulled wine, while choirs will sing traditional carols.

Visitors to the market will find gift ideas among all the European artisan crafts and decorations.

Moreover, fun activities will allow children to explore European traditions and cultures.

Kids will also have the chance to ride a pony.

The festive event opens to the public, with the entrance fee being VND30,000 (US$1.23) per person.

All the proceeds will be donated to five charities in Vietnam, namely Deutsche Cleft Kinderhilfe e.V., E-ducare, the Ho Chi Minh City Heart Institute, Ba Chieu Orphanage, and Sống Foundation.
