Long An Province in southern Vietnam is preparing to host approximately one million visitors for its second Culture, Sports, and Tourism Week in late November, which will include a vast array of events and a strong South Korean presence.
The provincial administration announced at a press conference on Tuesday that the Culture, Sports, and Tourism Week will run from November 28 to December 4.
Nguyen Thanh Thanh, director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, elaborated that this year’s week-long celebration will feature 11 main events, including an opening ceremony, and a tourism and One Commune One Product promotion conference with the participation of Ho Chi Minh City and 13 Mekong Delta provinces.
There will also be a Long An - South Korea trade and culinary fair, cultural exchange areas, sports competitions, and a music festival.

Hoang Dinh Can, head of the provincial Commission for Propaganda and Education, highlighted that this second edition holds a broader agenda with more sports tournaments and significant partnerships with South Korea to promote Long An’s culture and spotlight Korean regional heritage.
South Korea has a central role in events like the trade fair and will contribute nearly a third of the 300 booths on-site.
Many South Korean golfers will compete in the Long An - South Korea Friendship Golf Tournament, and South Korean businesses and music bands will participate in investment and entertainment events, including the ‘HITE JINRO FESTIVAL 2024.’
South Korea is currently the third-largest FDI investor in Long An, with over US$1 billion in 216 projects.
Thanh also introduced a number of sports events during the week-long celebration, such as a marathon in the Waterpoint Ben Luc urban area, the Long An Open Bodybuilding Championship, martial arts showcases, and the first-ever three-plank boat race on the Vam Co River—an iconic natural wonder in the province.
Thanh said that the province is ready to serve around one million visitors with these programs and an energetic schedule.
