President Truong Tan Sang held a meeting on Sept 6 with overseas Vietnamese who are working and learning in Russia’s city of Vladivostok.

President Sang is in Russia to attend the 20th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit, at the invitation of President Vladimir Putin.

The president listened to the opinions and wishes of overseas Vietnamese, and affirmed that the Party and State always pay attention to and take care of Vietnamese living in foreign countries.

He suggested that Vietnamese businesses in Russia need to take advantage of the coming Free Trade Agreement (FTA) negotiation between Vietnam and the Russia-Belarus-Kazakhstan Customs Alliance, adding that this will be a good opportunity for them to expand their operations in the country.

The State leader also asked the Vietnamese community to contribute to nurturing the two countries’ friendship and support each other in their lives.
