A concert of masterpieces and Japanese classical songs will be held in Hanoi early next month, the Japan Foundation Center for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam has announced on its website.
The event, called “J-CLASSIC,” will feature performances by young artists from the Hanoi Ensemble group, and will start at 8:00 pm on October 4 at the Japan Foundation Center, 27 Quang Trung Street, Hoan Kiem District.
Besides showcasing classics by Antonio Vivaldi, Béla Bartók, and Ástor Piazzolla, the night will also present popular Japanese classical tunes written by such famed composers as Nanae Mimura, Takatsugu Muramatsu, and Shin-itchiro Yokoyama.
According to the organizer, the Hanoi Ensemble, which was established in 2010, consists of around ten young artists from the Vietnam National Academy of Music. They often participate in concerts, music festivals, and cultural exchange programs in Vietnam and abroad.
‘J-CLASSIC’ is the fourth act of the JF Garage Concert, a series of concerts in the garage and courtyard of the Japan Foundation Center intended to provide musical diversity to Hanoi audiences through the introduction of Japanese music played by distinguished musicians.
The first and second JF Garage Concerts were held in 2012, while the third event was organized last year.
