The Bay of Romance

The Bay of Romance

The first impression guests have on approaching Princess d’Annam Resort & Spa from the country road leading to the secluded Ke Ga Bay in Binh Thuan is the panache of its architecture. And throughout their stay here, they will soon discover it is not only the architecture of Princess d’Annam that oozes classic charm and takes the breath away.

The resort’s 57 private villas were designed by award-winning architect Tan Hock Beng, who has successfully mixed ‘modernist sensibility and postcolonial ambience’ to create an absolute sanctuary in which guests can retreat.

The white-washed villas with white wooden shutters are reminiscent of delightfully elegant homes in Provence or a Greek island. It creates a yearning for a relaxed way of living, basking in the sun and swimming in the ocean, or your own private infinity pool, whenever your heart takes you. But take a closer look and you will see the design has many Oriental touches, such as intricate latticework and polished dark wood flooring. Beds are draped in a flowing, pure white net billowing in the sea breeze, and dressed in the softest linen that will make you feel as if you are sleeping on clouds, dreaming the night away.

Once you finally remove yourself away from the cocooning comfort of your villa, you will be rewarded by the picture-postcard beauty of Ke Ga Bay, with powdery soft sand and clear turquoise water. Take a walk in Princess d’Annam’s Ginger Garden, one of the resort’s contributions to the bio-diversity of the local province. “Ginger Garden is a focal point for our villa-only resort, conceived as a natural transition between the accommodation and the tropical forest”, says Jean-Philippe Beghin, general manager of Princess d’Annam. “It is a unique collection of many different species of ginger along with other rare flora and fauna, spread around footpaths winding through our resort. The garden exudes an aroma that is both delicate and spicy, reminding you how close you are to nature - a far cry from your usual hectic life in the city.”

After the walk, capture the spirit of coastal bliss with a visit to the refined spa overlooking the ocean and Ke Ga’s century-old lighthouse, to indulge in calm and tranquility for the body and soul. Couples can enjoy the ultimate experience by booking one of the two exclusive VIP suites with Jacuzzi, especially designed for treasured romantic moments.

The spa is open until 9.30pm so you can get pampered while gazing at the starry sky. Choose from Princess d’Annam signature massage, using aromatherapy oil to revitalise and create a sensational feeling of a thousand soft waves on your body; or the marmalade massage package, using fruit marmalade from mango, raspberry and guava; or the Secret of Indochina facial using a green roller of jade to gently smooth out the skin.
