A man is still in critical condition after 4 days of treatment at the Quang Nam general hospital after being stung hundreds of times by wasps, the doctors said on Saturday.

Nguyen Thin, 34, was in a coma and suffered severe respiratory problems as he was admitted to the hospital on Sept 2 after the wasp attack. Doctors at the hospital said they use blood filtering in an attempt to save the patient.

Bui Quang Minh, chairman of Tam Lanh commune’s People Committee, said Thin has three children and his wife left him 5 years ago. Minh added that they have so far raised VND4 million (roughly US$200) to support him.
