Tuesday, March 01, 2016, 16:54 GMT+7

A Vietnamese woman has been captured for killing a man after she accidentally shot him with a pen gun, police said Monday.

Huynh Thi Thanh Thuy, 25, living in Tan Phu District, Ho Chi Minh City, took the life of Nguyen Thanh Tung, 21, from Dong Nai, a neighboring province, with that type of gun on Saturday, officers said.

Police also held Nguyen Hoang Anh, Thuy’s boyfriend, and the pen gun for further investigation.

According to crime scene investigators, Tung visited the home of Anh, 30, in Hiep Phu Ward, District 9 with his fiancée, Tran Thi Tu Uyen, 22, hailing from Dong Nai.

Only Thuy was present at home then.

Thuy then took out a 25-centimeter long pen gun from a box to show Tung and told him if he was interested, she would ask Anh to give it to him.

When showcasing the gun, Thuy made it go off by accident and its bullet hit Tung’s right eye.

The victim was hospitalized but he could not make it and died on Saturday evening.
