Politburo holds conference on criticism and self-criticism

Tuesday, August 14, 2012, 10:30 GMT+7

The Politburo of the Party Central Committee (PCC) held a national personnel conference on criticism and self-criticism in Hanoi on August 13.

This is the second conference of this kind focusing on urgent issues related to Party building.

At first conference held in late February to implement the resolution adopted at the 4th plenum of the PCC, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong said criticism and self-criticism is of paramount importance to the development of exemplary virtuous models among leaders and managers.

Reviewing criticism and self-criticism under the resolution should focus on the three major issues: first, political ideology, ethics, lifestyle and regulations on “don’t do” things for Party members; second, limitations and weaknesses among cadres; third, limitations and weaknesses in implementing the principle “Collective leadership, individual in charge”

Ass.Professor Dr Ngo Huy Tiep, Director of the Party Building Institute under the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Public Administration (HCMA), said criticism and self-criticism is considered a sharp weapon for communist parties as well as for the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) to build and develop the Party.

Tiep also emphasized the need for all Party members and Party organizations to express criticism and self-criticism within the law.
