Dozens of cherry trees exhibited in a recent cherry blossom festival in Ho Chi Minh City will be grown in a popular Central Highlands resort town.

More than 70 cherry trees, displayed in the Ho Chi Minh City cherry blossom festival in 23-9 Park, District 1, on April 22 and 23, will be sent to Da Lat City’s service agency for tending, Nguyen Trinh Kiem, from the national planting service agency, said.

The trees will be planted in the city’s arboreta before going on display in the Da Lat Flower Garden, Kiem said.

The trees are sourced from the Japanese island of Hokkaido, thus it will be suitable to plant them in Da Lat due to similar atmosphere and earth conditions, he said.

On April 23 and 24, Dong Nai, a southern province, organized a cherry blossom festival which attracted over 10,000 visitors.

Between late March and mid-April, several cherry blossom festivals were held across the country including in Quang Ninh from March 18 to 21, Bac Ninh from March 21 to 23, Da Nang from April 9 to 10, and Hanoi from April 16 to 17.
