Vietnam boosts agricultural cooperation with India

Vietnam always welcomes and creates favourable conditions for Indian businesses to invest in the country’s agricultural sector, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has said.

While receiving Indian Minister of Agriculture Sharad Pawar in Hanoi on October 2, the PM expressed his pleasure at strong developments in the Vietnam-India strategic partnership over the past time.

He spoke highly of the outcomes of the talks between the Indian Minister and his Vietnamese counterpart Cao Duc Phat, affirming Vietnam ’s consistent policy of joining Indian efforts to develop bilateral ties more intensively, practically and effectively.

He expressed his wish that the Vietnamese and Indian agricultural ministries will coordinate effectively in implementing agreed areas of cooperation, especially the development of bio-technology and post-harvest technology, cross-breeding, aquaculture and seafood processing.

The PM also said he hopes that India will continue to support and cooperate with Vietnam in training agricultural human resources.

Minister Sharad Pawar affirmed that India ’s political parties always support cooperation activities between the two countries, as well as highly value the role and position of Vietnam in the regional and international arenas.

He briefed the host about the results of his talks with the Vietnamese Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, saying that the two sides agreed on several measures to strengthen future agricultural cooperation, especially in food crop planting, husbandry, aquaculture and seafood processing.

The minister expressed his wish that the Vietnamese Government will create favourable conditions for cooperation activities between the two ministries.
