-- On early Saturday, a four-seater car plunged into a stream in Dinh Hoa District in the northern province of Thai Nguyen, causing a 33-year-old man and his preschool son to drown and leaving his wife and their other son missing.

-- Two teenage cousins drowned on Saturday afternoon after falling into an irrigation reservoir in Di Linh District in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong.

-- Representatives of budget carrier Vietjet revealed on Friday they had borrowed US$464 million from the German Operating Aircraft Leasing, a globally active aircraft lessor, to purchase four A321 aircraft.

-- Authorities in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho have approved a plan to hold the Xanh Tu Te (Decent Greens) market at a park in Ninh Kieu District every Sunday, starting September. The market has won over a broad clientele in Ho Chi Minh City who come for quality farm items from across the country and to meet farmers in person.

-- Tourists in Ho Chi Minh City will enjoy substantial relaxation of visa requirements to visit South Korea from Monday (July 10) on, as stipulated in a memorandum of understanding recently signed between the municipal Tourism Promotion Center and the Republic of Korea’s General Department of Tourism.

-- Around 8,000 high school graduates and parents in Hanoi and neighboring provinces took part in a workshop held in the capital on Saturday to provide them with orientations on the choice of universities and colleges. A similar event will take place today in Ho Chi Minh City.
