Terraced fields in central Vietnam seen from a bird’s eye view

Newly planted crops transform this terraced field in Vietnam’s central region into a stunning landscape

While Vietnam’s northern region is known for a magical landscape dotted with terraced fields, Quang Nam Province in the central region is proving it can hold its own when it comes to manmade stunning scenery.

Located in a small valley surrounded by winding streams, the Chuor terraced fields look like a strand of green silk stretching 7.5 hectares between Arang and Ariing Villages in Axan Commune, Tay Giang District, Quang Nam Province.

The Chuor rice terrace has been around for quite some time, according to Axan Commune’s Co Tu people, a small ethnic group residing near the Truong Son Mountains in central Vietnam.

The terraced valley plays an important religious role in Co Tu culture, being regarded as the ethnic group's original place of origin.

Now that the rice paddy-planting season is in full swing, the valley has been ‘painted’ a fresh new shade of green.

Below are photos capturing the terrific Chuor terraced fields in Quang Nam from a bird’s eye view:
