The event was attended by Bui Quang Huy, First Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee, and A Dong, First Secretary of the Communist Youth League of China Central Committee, who delivered opening remarks.
Prior to the opening ceremony, the youth delegates from both nations paid their respects to President Ho Chi Minh at the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics.
Speaking at the ceremony, Huy emphasized the political significance of the gathering, which comes as both Parties and states are actively promoting the Vietnam–China community with a shared future.
This initiative centers around six principles, including higher political trust, more substantive cooperation, a more solid social foundation, and closer multilateral coordination.
A Dong reaffirmed that young people from both nations play a vital role in carrying forward and strengthening the traditional friendship between Vietnam and China.

One highlight of the program was a forum on youth innovation and tech entrepreneurship, where the young delegates discussed startup models, digital transformation, and technology applications across both nations.
At the forum, Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Viet Thao, former deputy director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, underscored the youth’s mission to safeguard national independence alongside socialism, stating: "To serve, contribute, and dedicate -- these are the three defining traits of today’s young generation."
The event also provided space for ideological and practical exchanges on revolutionary ideals, youth work, and the role of young people in a digitized world.

Discussions reaffirmed both sides' commitment to socialism under the leadership of their respective Communist Parties.
The forum's open and sincere atmosphere reflected the spirit of comradeship and brotherhood between the young generations of both nations.
"This bond is not just a legacy of the past, but also a responsibility for today’s youth to preserve, nurture, and develop a truly substantive and sustainable Vietnam–China relationship," said Huy.
First launched in 2000, the Vietnam–China youth friendship meeting is held alternately by both countries and has grown into an important platform for strengthening mutual understanding, cooperation, and solidarity between the younger generations.
This year's meeting, taking place from April 12 to 18, includes a variety of activities, forums, experience sharing sessions on digital-age entrepreneurship, upholding ideals for young people, and cultural exchange activities in Hanoi, Ninh Binh Province, and Quang Ninh Province, all located in northern Vietnam.
