Vietnam’s all three regions prepare for evening rains today

People in the northern and central regions, however, have to deal with scorching weather during the daytime

Moderate to heavy rains are expected throughout Vietnam while people in the northern and central regions have to deal with scorching weather during the daytime on Saturday, according to the National Center for Hydrometeorological Forecasting.

Rains in the southern region are triggered by the influence of low pressure combined with southwest monsoon and will intensify in the afternoon and evening.

Whirlwinds, lightning, and gusts can occur during the rains.

The lowest temperature in the southern region is from 24-27 degrees Celsius. 

The highest temperature ranges between 31 and 34 degrees Celsius and over 34 degrees Celsius in some places.

Meanwhile, the northwestern region of the country sees hot weather of 36 to 39 degrees Celsius, with the temperature in some places exceeding 39 degrees Celsius during the daytime.

The lowest temperature is from 26 to 29 degrees Celsius, with northern Lai Chau and Dien Bien Provinces exceptionally enjoying 20 to 23 degrees Celsius.

There will be showers and thunderstorms in some places in the evening and at night, with a possibility of whirlwinds, lightning, hail and gusts.

The daytime in the northeastern region, including Hanoi, is as hot as the northwestern region.

Quang Ninh Province and Hai Phong City’s highest temperature can hit 31 to 34 degrees Celsius.

In the evening and at night, there will be showers and thunderstorms in some places, during which whirlwinds, lightning, hail and gusts may happen.

The provinces from Thanh Hoa to Thua Thien Hue have hot daytime and face showers and thunderstorms in some places in the evening and at night, with chances of whirlwinds, lightning, hail and gusts, as well.

Showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening, with the possible accompany of whirlwinds, lightning, and gusts, are also in the forecast for the Central Highlands region.

The rain volume there ranges between moderate and heavy.

From May 24 to 27, the southern region will continue to have moderate to heavy rains.

The common rainfall in some places can reach 300 millimeters. 

Thunderstorms, hail, gusts and whirlwinds are likely to occur during the rains.
