The manager of a childcare center in Ho Chi Minh City has been arrested after being caught beating children at the venue in an exposé by Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper’s undercover reporters.
Police officers have apprehended and begun legal procedures against Pham Thi My Linh, owner of the Mam Xanh daycare facility in District 12.
The decision was made following approval by the district’s People’s Procuracy, an official confirmed on Tuesday morning.
The violence at the venue was revealed in a video by Tuoi Tre last weekend.
Linh, who is over 40, along with her two assistants Quynh and Dao, both in their 20s, were filmed slapping, kicking, and hitting children with various objects.
The children are between two and five years old, whose parents are mainly factory workers at local companies.
The women were filmed physically abusing children in their care during meals, bath time, and before nap time, despite their relentless crying.

After the footage was published, members of the public have vented their anger on the daycare workers and expressed sympathy for the children and their parents.
The People’s Committee in District 12 and local police officers subsequently initiated an investigation into the case.
Linh, Quynh, and Dao were then summoned to the police station to give statements.
Officers also gathered evidence from parents of the young victims.
