The event, co-organized by the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organization’s Central Council, the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union and the city’s Young Pioneer Council, was among the major children-related activities marking this historic milestone.
The event saw the participation of Nguyen Pham Duy Trang, secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee and president of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organization’s Central Council, and Nguyen Phuoc Loc, deputy secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and chairman of the city’s Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee.
They joined the children in the lively and colorful performance.

Speaking at the event, Trang emphasized that the program was not only a creative artistic performance, but also a moment to reflect on the heroic journey of Vietnam’s history, especially the landmark event of April 30, 1975, the day of national reunification.
She shared that the performance aimed to express deep gratitude for the sacrifices and contributions of previous generations while encouraging children to nurture love for their homeland and pride in the nation's glorious past.
“Every beat of the drum and every sound of the bugle resonate as part of a grand symphony of patriotism, faith, and aspiration,” Trang stated.
Evoking national pride through performance
Around 1,000 young participants from various districts and Thu Duc City came together at the Ho Chi Minh City Children’s House in District 3 to join the drum and bugle performance.
According to the central council, more than 10,000 children involved in the April 12 event are active members of ceremonial teams from provinces and cities nationwide.
Each segment of the performance was meticulously choreographed, featuring familiar patriotic songs tied to childhood memories and Vietnam’s journey of building and defending the country.
These included anthems such as Giai Phong Mien Nam (Liberate the South), Tien ve Sai Gon (Advance Toward Saigon), Ngay hoi toan thang (Complete Victory Festival) and Nhu co Bac Ho trong ngay vui dai thang (As If Uncle Ho Were Present on the Joyous Day of Great Victory).
The program was connected live to 62 provinces and cities and broadcast online to over 150 children’s cultural centers, youth activity centers, and children’s houses across Vietnam.
