Gololobov Andrey, a 42-year-old Russian tourist, died yesterday in Vietnam’s coastal city of Nha Trang after crashing his rented motorbike into a wall along a street. At about 10 am Monday, Andrey was seen driving the motorbike at a very high speed on Tran Phu Street from the city’s center toward the Nha Trang Port, witnesses said. When he turned at the corner in front of the Oceanography Institute, the vehicle suddenly climbed onto the sidewalk and crashed into a wall. The impact threw Andrey to the ground, killing him instantly. Local residents who witnessed the accident called the police. Police examined the scene and took Andrey’s body to the Khanh Hoa Province General Hospital. Local authorities said they have contacted the Russian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City to handle the case and repatriate the man’s body to Russia. Andrey and several other Russians allegedly arrived in Nha Trang on a tour that began on November 22 and is expected to last until December 4. Angrey allegedly wanted to ride the motorbike alone that morning to take in the beautiful landscape of the coastal city.
