South Korea will help Vietnam build and develop human resources for the nuclear industry.
The commitment was made during an international seminar at Da Lat University in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong on Monday.
“We have prepared intensive training programs in order to help you approach the most advanced nuclear power technology,” Jong Kyung Kim, head of the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute, said at the event attended by professors and experts from South Korea, Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam.
Speaking at the seminar, Pham Quang Hung, head of the Vietnam International Education Department under the Ministry of Education and Training, highly valued the event as an important workshop for authorities and experts to exchange experience as well as strengthen their connection.
The seminar was also an occasion to seek appropriate ways for developing human resource solutions for the nuclear industry in each of the countries, he added.
Vietnam currently has three universities assigned by the prime minister to focus on intensive nuclear power training, including the University of Science under the Vietnam National University-Hanoi, the Hanoi University of Science and Technology, and Da Lat University.
