The fifth annual “Balade en France,” the biggest French cuisine and wine festival in Vietnam, will return to Ho Chi Minh City late this month.

The two-night event is organized by the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam; Sopexa, the French agency for international marketing of food, wine and lifestyle; and the Hotel Equatorial, with support from the French Consulate in HCMC and the French Ministry of Agriculture.

It aims to promote French culture and lifestyle through food, wine, music and various products.

In addition, “Balade en France” also hopes to increase the visibility and fame of French products in the eyes of Vietnamese, as well as act as an opportunity to strengthen the relationship and friendship between France and Vietnam.

Through this event, a wide range of French specialties made by numerous famous restaurants will be showcased.

Three French bands based in Vietnam, namely Hot Tzigani, Gwemilli, and Peche à la mouche will perform on stage during the two nights.

Several magicians from the BNP Magic crew will also perform.

This year, “Balade en France” is expected to attract around 1,800 guests, after it had 1,600 visitors last year.

Visitors will buy an entrance ticket that will grant them access to the event, and then will be able to buy coupons worth VND20,000 (US$1) for food and beverages.

They will also have a chance to win one of the many lucky draw prizes organized during the event.

“Balade en France” 2014 will take place from 6pm to 11pm on October 24 to 25 at the Hotel Equatorial at 242 Tran Binh Trong Street, District 5.

Tickets bought in advance cost VND150,000 (US$7.06), and are VND300,000 (US$33.02) at the door for adults, and VND120,000 (US$5.65) for kids under 14.

Admission is free for kids under 5.
