-- Slovakia is willing to help Vietnam develop its energy industry, Slovakian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Miroslav Lajcak said at the Vietnam-Slovakia Business Forum in Ho Chi Minh City on Wednesday.

-- The Hanoi cybercriminal police unit announced Wednesday they had busted a ring, consisting of adolescents mostly from the central province of Quang Nam, that tricked mobile phone users by informing them via social networks that they had won valuable prizes and asking them to pay dozens of millions of dong to claim the fake gifts.

-- A fishing boat with four fishermen onboard went missing en route from Rach Gia City in the southern province of Kien Giang to the province’s Tho Chu Island on October 29, the commander of the provincial border soldier unit said late Wednesday.

-- More than 28,250 Chinese tourists have entered Vietnam via the Da Nang seaport using passports that include the illegal nine-dash line which violates the Southeast Asian country’s sovereignty in the East Vietnam Sea, the commander of the central Vietnamese city’s border soldier unit said Wednesday.

-- Three former customs officials in Ho Chi Minh City and the southern province of An Giang are in police custody over bribery charges, a source from the Ho Chi Minh City economic police said Wednesday.

-- Jetstar Pacific is slated to put an Airbus A320 Sharklet aircraft into use today, November 6, the low-cost carrier announced after receiving the jetliner on Wednesday. The bent-back Sharklet wing tips offer fuel savings of about 3.5 percent.
