Two French-German higher education fairs will take place in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City next weekend, the French Consulate General in the southern city said Friday in a press release.
The Campus France Agency and German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) will cooperate to organize the first event on December 7 (Saturday) at Pullman Hotel at 40 Cat Linh Street, Dong Da District in the capital and the second on December 8 (Sunday) at REX Hotel at 141 Nguyen Hue Street, District 1 in the other city.
The two shows aim to meet the needs of Vietnamese students as well as help facilitate the implementation of a plan by Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training to train 20,000 PhDs, 10,000 of whom are expected to graduate from overseas universities, by 2020.
The exhibitions will focus on master’s and doctoral programs in science, technology, economics, and management.
Participants will have a chance to meet with representatives of nearly forty French and German higher education institutions, including comprehensive universities and schools that offer engineering, business, and specialized courses, in addition to executives from Campus France and DAAD.
Conferences, to be held thematically, will be centered on French and German higher education systems and familiarize attendees with their training programs, scholarships, administrative procedures, and courses run in English.
A contest on France and study in that European country will also be organized, with prizes ranging from gifts to an air ticket to France.
Those who plan to study in France can fill in an online form to arrange 20-minute personal interviews with French institutions during these events.
