200-year-old enamel-coated brass artifacts from Vietnam and other Asian countries are on display at an exhibit running in Ho Chi Minh City until May 22.

The enamel brass collection, which belongs to local collector Nguyen Hong Phuc, is on display at the HCMC History Museum, 2 Nguyen Binh Khiem, district 1.

The exhibit features 147 items dating from the 18th to early 20th centuries from Vietnam, China, Japan and Central Asian countries.

The artifacts come in a wide variety of subjects, categories, decorative patterns and colors.

Those from Vietnam also come in various purposes such as tea boxes, mirror frames, basins and incense burners, particularly an intricate 19th-century butterfly enamel box.

The enamel collection is the start of the museum’s launch of private collections.
