A special Christmas tree displayed at the Flower Box shop at the corner of Dinh Tien Hoang and Dien Bien Phu streets in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 1 has drawn attention of passers-by since it was made from 1,500 condoms.
Le Thu Hien, a staff of the shop informed that the 3-meter-high tree is in response to the World AIDS Day on December 1 as well as to welcome the upcoming Christmas.
In related news, a special dress made of around 2,000 condoms and 1,000 LED lights on November 26 was showcased in HCMC as part of the Binh Thuong Hoa Bao Cao Su (Normalizing Condoms) campaign, which is in its second year.
The dress was designed by Nguyen Minh Tuan, student of Van Lang University’s Graphic Design - Industrial Fine Arts Faculty, for his graduate project in response to the World Day against HIV/AIDS (December 1). It aims to send the message of “be normal to live, love and be happy.”
