The newswire reported on Tuesday that passengers now pay only VND120,000 (US$5.55) for the first six hours for a single room and VND130,000 ($6.02) for a double room.

The prices for the next six hours for each type of room are VND105,000 ($4.86) and VND115,000 ($5.32), respectively.

The new prices, set by the Vietnam Airlines Tourism Company (VATC), are said to be more affordable than the previous quotes, which ranged from VND210,000 ($9.88) for single rooms to VND252,000 ($11.86) for doubles for the first three hours.

The next three hours used to cost VND180,000 ($8.47) and VND215,000 ($10) for single and double rooms, respectively. The full-day rate was VND1.53 million ($72) for single rooms and VND1.83 million ($86) for doubles.

Passengers have to pay $10 to $30 per hour for the sleepbox service at international airports in Russia, England, Singapore, and the U.S., Vietnamplus reported.

Operating as Vietnam’s first-ever such service, the four-square-meter pods at Noi Bai are three meters high and equipped with such amenities as a bed, wardrobe, telephone, Wi-Fi connection, and free snack and water functioning as quick places of refuge for passengers awaiting their flights.
