The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism has authorized Miss Sports Vietnam 2007 Tran Thi Quynh to represent Vietnam at the 2013 Mrs. World 2013 to be held in Guangzhou, China from November 14–23.

Born in 1986 in Hai Phong, Quynh used to be a professional volleyball athlete and attended numerous national and South East Asia regional tournaments. In 2009, she represented Vietnam at the Miss International contest in China and was in the top of 20 contestants with the prettiest faces.

Coming to the contest, Quynh will bring a picture hand-embroidered with flamingos and bronze drums designed by Nhat Dung, and a portrait of General Vo Nguyen Giap made of coconut shells by artisan Vo Quy Quoc, to the contest’s charity auction.

Vietnamese Doan Thi Kim Hong who won the Mrs. Congeniality title at the Mrs. World 2005 in India will also be one of the members of this year’s jury.

First launched in 1985, Mrs. World is an international beauty pageant organized annually as a beauty contest for married women. Besides Mrs. Kim Hong, Vietnam has earlier sent other contestants to the pageant. In 2008, Nguyen Dieu Hoa entered the top five contestants of Mrs. World 2008 in Russia. Also, Hoang Thi Yen and Thu Huong finished third at the pageants held in Vietnam in 2009 and in the US in 2011, respectively.

The 2015 Mrs. World is expected to be held in Thanh Hoa, Vietnam.
