A Vietnamese delegation led by Deputy PM Pham Binh Minh is attending the 2014 World Economic Forum Annual Meeting (WEF) that opened on Wednesday in Davos, Switzerland. The 44th annual meeting is themed “The Reshaping of the World: Consequences for Society, Politics and Business”. The event includes seminars focusing on various global issues and impacts of ASEAN re-shaping on the growth of the East Asian region. Besides taking part in such seminars, the Deputy PM will have talks with leaders of other countries. Currently, eleven Vietnamese big economic groups and corporations are WEF members. Of the eleven entities, the FPT group, VinGroup and VinaCapital are the three WEF founding members. WEF is a Swiss non-profit foundation, based in Cologny, Geneva. It is an independent international organization committed to improving the state of the world by engaging business, political, academic and other leaders of society to shape global, regional and industry agendas. The Forum is best known for its annual meeting in Davos, a mountain resort in Graubünden, in the eastern Alps region of Switzerland.
