An exhibit featuring ancient books, weapons, and worship items from various religions is running in Ho Chi Minh City until Nov 27.

The exhibit, titled “Humans and Religions,” which is running at 6 Ton Duc Thang Street, District 1, is considered a rare event as it gathers a large number of treasured items from different religious traditions.

On display are century-old bibles and ornate Buddha statues. Statues of the Virgin Mary from Mongolia, Brazil, and several European and African countries collected by local Cardinal Pham Minh Man are also on display. The exhibit also features ancient books including five Hindu leather books, the first Bible in Vietnamese which was printed in Hong Kong in 1913, Buddhist teachings written on leaves, and classic books from Taoism and Confucianism, as well as woodblocks of religious teachings which date back to the 18th century.

The exhibit is open to the public from 8:30AM to 4PM Tuesday through Sunday every week.
