An exhibition titled “Comics, manga & Co. – The new culture in German comics”, which showcases works from 13 artists in various styles, is running in Ho Chi Minh City from now to June 23.

The exhibition, held at the HCMC Exhibition House, at 92 Le Thanh Ton, district 1, features works from 13 artists, both seasoned and young, innovative ones, in a variety of genres including autobiography, surrealist, fantasy works and comic reportage.

The Goethe Institute and German writer Matthias Schneider launched a long trip around the world starting May 2010 to promote German comic works.

Though German comics have yet to gain a strong foothold like Japanese manga or American comics, the industry boasts a lengthy development and is believed to revive robustly following the fall of the Berlin wall.
