“Rhythm of the East Sea” is the theme of a photography contest initiated by Tuoi Tre Newspaper to feature stories and daily life of people living along country-wide costal areas of the East Sea, particularly soldiers in Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagos.

Since being launched from October, 2012, the contest has attracted more than 1,600 photo entries shot by both amateur and professional photographers across the nation.

“Many photographic works reach high levels of photo journalism,” said Vu Khanh, chairman of Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists and the contest’s chief judge.
