Vinastar Motors, the Vietnamese authorized dealer of Japanese automaker Mitsubishi, is recalling some 2,000 Triton and Pajero Sport vehicles countrywide over three technical defects.
The recall campaign affects 707 Triton, and 1,291 Pajero Sport cars, manufactured between 2011 and 2013, according to Vinastar.
Starting September 3, owners of these vehicles are advised to bring their cars to the Vinastar maintenance centers countrywide for free-of-charge checks and repairs.
The process takes some 20 minutes to 1.5 hours, the company said.
Last week Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) also announced a recall campaign for 8,216 Triton and Pajero Sport units, produced before May 11, 2012, in Malaysia.
The recall was done in a bid to undertake a preventive and safety measure to inspect the welding condition of the front lower arm of the vehicles.
“Although there have not been any incidents in Malaysia, the exercise is deemed necessary as improper welding in the front lower arm may cause a vehicle to be unstable,” English-language automotive website Paul Tan reported.
