A jazz-rock concert with Parisian Charles Pasi will be held by The French Institute in Vietnam and the Institute of Cultural Exchanges with France (IDECAF) at 8 pm on Tuesday at IDECAF, 31 Thai Van Lung Street, HCMC.

He will perform 11 songs, including Up to us, Better with butter, Farewell my love, Old lady Paris, Lost generation, Things have changed, While you’re dancing, Remember the day, Wild it up, Une berceuse, and Dream a little dream of me in the coming show at IDECAF.

Charles Pasi, a singer, harmonicist and guitarist, started his passion in music, especially in blues, jazz, rock and world music, at the age of 17 after singing in a gospel choir.

After finishing education at the Saint Louis Jazz School, he continues at Jazz School CIM and Atla School for contemporary music in Paris.

Over time, the young artist has made a name in the music world after attending the tour of Carla Bruni and various jazz and blues festivals, as well as singing theme songs in some movies, such as “Actrices” by Valeria Bruni-Tedeschi and “Cineman” by Yann Moix.

His first album “Mainly Blue” was unanimously welcomed in the musical community and made it to the final of the Memphis International Blues Challenge on February 2007.

His talent was shined considerably after his record “Uncaged” on October 2010 and the show with the legendary saxophone Archie Shepp. One of the two songs he performed in the show, “Better With Butter”, was replayed in his album “Uncaged” on March 2011 and will be performed again in the upcoming show.
