-- The Hanoi People’s Committee has issued a regulation banning telecommunications service providers from monopolizing their services at multi-owner tall buildings. The new regulation is considered a step forward in breaking the long-existing monopoly held by major carriers at many apartment buildings throughout the capital and Ho Chi Minh City.
-- The People’s Committee of the north-central province of Thanh Hoa said on Tuesday that 898 of its migrant workers are still staying and working illegally in the Republic of Korea.

-- A survey conducted and recently announced by the German Industry and Commerce in Vietnam (GIC/AHK Vietnam) has indicated that 70 percent of German enterprises in the Southeast Asian country are satisfied with their corporate results, while 54 percent asserted they will increase their capital. Fifty-eight percent are positive about improvement prospects of their revenue next year, whereas 58 percent have formulated recruitment plans for 2017.
-- Akbar Ghamkhar, president of Iran Rastin Tours tourism company who also represents eight tour operators from the Middle East country, asserted that Vietnam has great potential to welcome an influx of Iranian tourists in the coming time after he completed his five-day cross-country survey trip on Tuesday.
-- Vietnam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Le Hai Binh on Tuesday lauded the U.S. Senate’s approval of a resolution to scrap a new catfish inspection program that many countries, including Vietnam, had criticized as being disappointing and unnecessary, after a vote on May 25. Binh added that Vietnam has called on the U.S. House of Representatives to approve the program removal before President Barack Obama signs on.

-- The People’s Committee of the north-central province of Quang Binh has allowed the management of the UNESCO-recognized Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, home to Son Doong Cave, and tourism agency Oxalis to offer tours to Va and Nuoc Nut grottos. These two cavernous wonders were surveyed and announced in 2000 by scientists from the British Cave Research Association.
