Politics -- Vietnam is ready to send more officers to UN peacekeeping operations, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army Pham Ngoc Minh asserted at talks with a delegation of the UK army medical services in Hanoi on Friday -- Vietnam's Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc wrapped up his participation at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland on Friday, having engaged in a continuous series of sessions and meetings with world and business leaders as part of his sideline activities.

-- The Hanoi traffic police unit has proposed to stipulate that each capital resident be allowed to own one car with one fixed license plate; should they want to buy a new car, residents should sell the old one first.

-- The government has approved a three-year pilot scheme, allowing Vietnamese citizens with a minimum monthly wage of VND10 million, to enter casinos across the country, which until today are only open to foreign or overseas Vietnamese gamblers.

-- The Ministry of Transport is slated to submit a proposal to earmark VND19.7 trillion (US$879.46 million) on expanding the capacity of overloaded Tan Son Nhat International Airport to the government next month.

-- The Saigon bus route 07 (Cho Lon Bus Station – Go Vap District) and 149 (23/9 Park – Binh Hung Hoa Residential Area) have been added with a new stop in the Saigon Railway Station starting Friday.

-- The tourism department of the north-central Vietnamese province of Quang Binh asserted that there is no project or plan to build a cable car system through the local Son Doong, the world’s largest cave, as recently rumored.
