President Truong Tan Sang on July 23 extended congratulations to Pranab Mukherjee on his election as the 13th President of India.

In his message, Sang said he is delight at the fine development of the strategic partnership between Vietnam and India in recent years, creating many important hallmarks in the two countries’ traditional, close relations established and nurtured by Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and President Ho Chi Minh.

He also expressed his firm belief that during Mukherjee’s term, the Vietnamese-Indian friendship and strategic partnership will be further consolidated and developed for the benefit of both nations, as well as for peace, stability, cooperation and prosperity of the region and the world.
