A comic-making contest on Vietnam and its people has been launched for Vietnam nationals over the age of 12.

Themed “Vietnam, country and people,” the competition is jointly held by the Japan Foundation Center for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam and the Y Tuong Song (Idea for Life) company with the aim to increase people’s love and pride in the country.

Contestants can participate individually or in groups. Entries including an application form and a summary of the comic and its characters must be submitted by October 30 at Room 103, House 9, Thuy Loi Apartment on Dong Da Street, Hanoi, or the Viet Nam Fine Arts Association at 51 Tran Hung Dao Street, Hoan Kiem District, Ha Noi.

The winner will receive a VND50million (US$2,404) award as well as exhibitions in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

In addition, Ton Duc Thang Museum and An Giang Museum, in collaboration with the HCMC Photographic Association of Ho Chi Minh City, have also launched a photo contest featuring the best pictures from the southern province of An Giang.

The contest, themed “Beautiful Landscapes and People of An Giang”, is open for all professional and amateur photographers across the country.

The deadline for photographers to submit entries, which can be their own photos or photos they have collected, is August 5. Photos must be sent to the HCMC Photographic Association at 122 Suong Nguyet Anh Street in District 1.
