Lan Ha Bay and Bai Xep Beach in Quang Ninh Province in northern Vietnam and Phu Yen Province in the central part, respectively, are alluring attractions which offer tourists awesome, pristine seascape and other delights.

Lan Ha Bay, located to the south of UNESCO-recognized Ha Long Bay in Quang Ninh, and the east of Cat Ba Island, a beauty spot of Hai Phong Province, boasts an area of over 7,000ha and 400 islets.

About 5,400ha of the area is under the management of Cat Ba National Park in Hai Phong, which is recognized as one of the world’s biosphere reserves by the UNESCO.

Apart from its gorgeous, pristine beaches, Lan Ha Bay also appeals to tourists with its resplendent limestone mountains in different, eerie shapes on the sea.

Adventure-seeking tourists can also explore the bay on colorful kayaks (a kind of sports canoes).

With the warm seawater and sand in the summer, Lan Ha Bay in February and March boasts a misty, Eden-like beauty.

The bay is also home to 100-year-old Van Gia fishing village, with some hundred households who live on fishing and catering to tourists.

Meanwhile, Bai Xep Beach, located in Tuy An District in central Phu Yen Province, is only 500m long, but boasts a pristine, wild beauty with two black stone ranges at two ends of the beach.

The right stone range, with a smooth, lush grassland, provides an ideal camp pitching place for youths to admire sunrise or sunset beyond the sea.

Sao Viet Resort, located some 6km from Bai Xep beach, is also a good option. It offers free electric car rides to the beach for tourists on a daily basis.

Nestling behind Bai Xep’s black stone ranges are sand hills and meandering paths leading to hamlets with luxuriant vegetable gardens.

From Tuy An District, tourists will spot Bai Xep Beach after going along National Highway 1 to the south for some 17km.

From the provincial city of Tuy Hoa, tourists will also go along National Highway 1 to the north for 12 km before reaching Sao Viet T-junction.

They then take the street with the sign of Sao Viet Resort, go past fishing villages and vegetable gardens and they will find Bai Xep Beach.

Not far away from Bai Xep are several of the province’s scenic spots, including Da Dia Lagoon -- a unique natural wonder with cylindrical stone slabs which were created from volcano lava -- O Loan Lagoon and Cau River, a famous lobster farming ground.

The province’s other tourist attractions include Mon Beach, located beneath the lighthouse of Dai Lanh Tip, which welcomes sunrise first throughout Vietnam, and Vung Ro Bay, which is of stunning charm and great historical importance.

Delectable seafood dishes are also abundant throughout the province, which is known as the country’s deep-sea tuna hub.
