-- The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has proposed airlines keep their airplanes overnight at Can Tho Airport, located in the namesake Mekong Delta city, to alleviate crowding at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City.

-- The chief of the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Railway Management Board has put the tardiness of a metro line, the city’s first urban railway project, down to several causes, including complicated procedures.

-- The director of the relic conservation center in Hoi An City, located in the central province of Quang Nam, has revealed areas meant for peddlers in its    UNESCO-recognized Hoi An Ancient Town will be rearranged starting New Year’s Day, in a bid to better promote its traditional handicrafts and put an end to tourist harassment.

-- Vietnamese player Nguyen Anh Tu on Saturday defeated his Singaporean opponent to bag the third gold medal for his country at the ongoing 10th Southeast Asian table tennis tournament in Indonesia.
