Fifteen out of 24 districts across Ho Chi Minh City will have no tap water for four hours during a planned water supply cut from midnight on Wednesday, the municipal water utility has announced.
Water supply will be interrupted in all areas of District 1, District 2, District 3, District 5 and District 9, and Thu Duc District, as well as in certain wards of District 4, District 6, District 7, District 8, District 10, District 11, Tan Binh District, Phu Nhuan District and Binh Thanh District, according to Saigon Water Corporation (Sawaco).
The water cut-off, occurring between 00:00 am and 4:00 on Thursday, is intended to facilitate an equipment maintenance process at the Thu Duc Water Plant, one of the city’s main suppliers.
Sawaco has noted that residents of the affected areas may see opaque water and low pressure from the taps for a while after the cut-off is over.
The water utility added that it has applied measures to moderate the supply network and will have tank trucks ready in the affected areas.
