Thursday, September 13, 2012, 13:14 GMT+7

Vietnam’s Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung yesterday ordered state employees not to read or distribute information posted on reactionary websites including Quan lam bao and Dan lam bao.

The Prime Minister’s order was carried in a government dispatch dated September 12, 2012 signed by Nguyen Quang Thang, deputy minister, deputy chief of the Government Office.

Accordingly, through reports from the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Information and Communication, the Central Committee on Propaganda and the Central Party Office, it is confirmed that some online websites like Dan lam bao, Quan lam bao, Bien Dong and others posted slanderous, falsified information aimed at blackening the country’s leadership.

They are intended to incite the public to act against the Party and State, creating distrust in order to carry out evil intentions of the reactionary and hostile forces, the dispatch reads.

Prime Minister Dung has instructed Nhan Dan newspaper, Vietnam News Agency, Vietnam Television, Voice of Vietnam, the government’s portal website and other news agencies to provide updated and correct information to dispel such anti-State and anti-Party rumors.

Article 4 of this government dispatch reads “ministries, local agencies, leaders, officials, state employees do not read, do not use, do not distribute information posted on reactionary websites”.

The Prime Minister has ordered the Ministry of Public Security and the information ministry to investigate and strictly punish violators.
