Police in Vietnam’s Central Highlands have detained three Vietnamese brothers for threatening people with weapons and injuring one.
Officers in Da Lat, the capital city of Lam Dong Province, said on Tuesday that they had captured Nguyen Van Huy, 35, along with his brothers Nguyen Van Cuong, 33, and Nguyen Duy, 36, as the three suspects who intimidated people with a pistol at a provincial hospital.
A police investigation showed that at 11:00 pm on Monday, Huy and Cuong came to the house of Nguyen Hoang Thien Lam, 46, in Da Lat to “resolve outstanding conflicts,” ending up with the two assaulting Lam using a knife and two table spoons, and leaving him severely injured.
Lam was eventually transferred to the provincial general hospital for treatment, escorted by a group of about 20 people, according to the investigation.

At the hospital, members of Lam’s group encountered Huy and Cuong, who were taking care of their own father in the emergency room. Eager to take revenge, the probe said, Cuong then called Duy for support.
Duy soon appeared at the infirmary brandishing a sword and pistol, causing Lam’s group to flee, and chaos in the entire area.
As soon as they were informed of the fight, provincial police arrived and detained Duy, Huy, and Cuong for investigation.
Police have since confiscated a pistol without bullets, a pair of scissors, a broken hand knife, a sword, and a bent spoon from the three.
