The Singaporean Navy’s RSS Endurance arrived in a port in south-central Vietnam on Friday, commencing a five-day visit to foster cooperation between the two countries’ defense ministries.

The visit, consisting of 180 crewmembers led by Major Lee Kwok So, is the second RSS Endurance ever made in Cam Ranh International Port in Khanh Hoa Province since the port’s inauguration in March 2016.

During the visit, commanders of the ship will meet leaders of the Khanh Hoa administration and Naval Zone 4, according to the Vietnam News Agency.

The two sides will visit each other’s vessels, and the Singaporean crewmembers will also hold sports exchange with their Naval Zone 4 counterparts.

Atop these activities, the Singaporean guests will tour some attractions in Khanh Hoa.

According to the Vietnam News Agency, the visit takes place at a time of growing defence cooperation between Vietnam and Singapore.

It is part of activities of the agreement between the two defense ministries, which is expected to foster cooperation between the two sides.
