Maintenance will cut water supply to six whole districts and to parts of nine others in Ho Chi Minh City for eight hours starting this Saturday evening, the local water supplier announced.
Accordingly, the Thu Duc Water Plant, located in Thu Duc District, will be maintained from 9:00 pm on October 24 until 5:00 am on Sunday, the Saigon Water Supply Corporation (Sawaco) said.
Because of the work, District 1, District 2, District 3, District 5, District 9, and Thu Duc District will not have water supply in all of its wards during the time.
Meanwhile, the following districts will have water cut in a number of wards following the same schedule.
In District 4, nine wards will be affected, including Wards 2, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, and 14.
In District 6, six wards numbered 1 to 6 will have water cut during the same period.
In District 7, only Tan Thuan Dong Ward will suffer from the water supply disruption, while Wards 9, 10 and 11 in District 8 will experience the same problem.
In District 10, all the wards numbered from 1 to 9 and from 11 to 15 will be subject to the maintenance.
In District 11, Wards 4, 6, 7, 12, 13, 15 and 16 will be affected, while water supply will not be accessible to residents in Wards 1, 2, 3 and 6 in Tan Binh District.
In Phu Nhuan District, the maintenance will affect the wards numbered from 1 to 5 and from 7 to 15, as well as Ward 17.
In Binh Thanh District, the water cut-off will happen in Wards 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 11, 13, 14, 15, 17, 19, 21, 22, and the wards numbered from 24 to 28.
When the water supply is resumed for all these areas, the water may flow weakly or be muddy for a short time due to a hydraulic fluctuation, Sawaco said.
The maintenance is aimed at ensuring a stable, continuous water supply for the future, including Tet (Vietnam’s Lunar New Year), which will fall on February 8, 2016, the company said.
The plant is now capable of supplying 850,000m³ of running water per day.
