-- Vietnam will release a separate statement concerning the East Vietnam Sea ruling on Tuesday by the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Le Hai Binh said in a press conference on Thursday.

-- Vietnam’s border control officers are firmly refusing to stamp Chinese passports that feature the nine-dotted line representing China’s illegal claim to the East Vietnam Sea.

-- A newly issued government decree in Vietnam requiring a permit for all forms of photography exhibition has had photographers and Internet users sitting on hot bricks as it is still unclear whether sharing photos online will fall under the decree’s governing scope.

-- Diphtheria, an infection that affects the airway of the patient, has for the first time been recorded in Binh Phuoc Province in southern Vietnam, after three people have died of the condition while 47 others are still being monitored, Nguyen Dong Thong, director of the Binh Phuoc Department of Health, said on Thursday.

-- A case of two three-year-old girls being mistakenly swapped at birth has been recorded in Binh Phuoc Province, but things are getting complicated as one of the families is refusing to exchange their daughter.

-- A festival dedicated to the culture of the Cham people in southern Vietnam will be held in the Mekong Delta province of An Giang from July 15 to 17, during which traditional art performances and other cultural activities will be featured.

-- A ‘Young ASEAN Ambassador’ English contest will be organized in Vietnam next month in celebration of the 49th anniversary of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and 40 years of Vietnam-Thailand bilateral diplomatic relations.

-- Vietnam welcomes investment and cooperation from businesses across Asia and Europe, as well as promising to maintain comprehensive cooperation among Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) members, Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said on Thursday at the ASEM summit in Mongolia.
