Budget carrier Vietjet Air launched two new flight services linking the central Vietnamese city of Da Nang with India’s Mumbai and New Delhi in a ceremony held at Da Nang International Airport on Wednesday.
There will be three flights per week on the Mumbai-Da Nang route every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, while four flights will be offered on the New Delhi-Da Nang route every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday.
The aircraft for these two routes will be the Airbus A320.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, chairman of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism Nguyen Trung Khanh said the two new flight routes between Vietnam and India will make important contributions to bilateral economic and cultural exchanges, especially in tourism.

They will also help Da Nang realize its goal of becoming a quality tourism and service hub, and an innovative destination of Vietnam and in Southeast Asia by 2030, he said.
Tran Phuoc Son, deputy chairman of the People’s Committee of Da Nang, said the two links play an important role in the growth of international visitors to the central Vietnamese city, which welcomed more than 2,100 international flights carrying over 280,000 passengers in the first nine months of this year.
In addition, Vietjet Air also plans to open a direct flight route connecting Da Nang with the western Indian city of Ahmedabad in December.
