Vietnam’s electric vehicle (EV) maker VinFast Auto on Wednesday clinched a deal with Bahwan Automobiles Trading LLC (BAT) for the distribution of electric vehicles in Oman, signifying its expansion in the Middle East region.
Under the agreement, BAT will become the official dealer of VinFast in Oman.
The Vietnamese company plans to open and operate 13 VinFast stores and service centers between 2024 and 2027, with the first store expected to be launched in mid-2024.
VinFast and BAT signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation during the 2023 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP 28) in the United Arab Emirates.
