The Horasis China Meeting 2024 will take place in Binh Duong Province, southern Vietnam between April 14 and 16, acting as a bridge for hundreds of Chinese companies and investors to sound out business and cooperation opportunities in the province.

The event, co-held by the provincial People’s Committee, Horasis - an independent, international think tank, and the China Federation of Industrial Economics, will be attended by hundreds of local and international enterprises, an official from the provincial administration told a press conference to announce the organization of the meeting on Friday.

After the launch of a freight train service between Binh Duong Province and China last year, the door of exporting the province’s farm produce to the latter was deemed to be wider, Mai Hung Dung, vice-chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, told Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper.

More cooperation activities are expected to boost two-way trade between the province and China, Dung said.

Binh Duong Province accounts for over 10 percent of the country’s total export revenue.

Besides, Song Than Station, located in Di An City under the province, is the first train station in the southern region to play a role in boosting farm produce transport to China.

Dung also revealed that a delegation of the provincial administration had previously paid a working visit to China.

The two sides will sign multiple memoranda of understanding to spur their partnership on customs issues and logistics, facilitating the cooperation of companies in the two nations, he underlined.

Frank-Jürgen Richter, chairman of Horasis, said that amid the ongoing global uncertainties, Vietnam’s governance policies have smoothed the path for international firms to do business and expand their reach.

Richter assessed Binh Duong Province as a dynamic locality and a potential destination for investors.

Binh Duong was ranked among three largest recipients of foreign investment in Vietnam in 2023.

Over 4,000 foreign-invested projects are operating in the province.
