Chairman of Vietnam's lawmaking National Assembly Vuong Dinh Hue will pay an official visit to China from April 7 to 12, according to an announcement made by the legislature's external affairs commission on Thursday.

The visit will be made at the invitation of Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China Zhao Leji.

The Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership has grown positively with many important achievements over the past several years.

The leaders of both nations' Party and government have consistently engaged in exchanges, thereby bolstering their political confidence in each other.

After Vietnamese Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's historic visit to the northern neighbor in October 2022, Chinese General Secretary and President Xi Jinping reciprocated with a state visit to Vietnam in December 2023.

During Xi's visit, the two nations released a joint statement emphasizing their commitment to furthering and enhancing their comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, as well as constructing a Vietnam-China community with a shared future, marking a significant strategic milestone and heralding a new era in their partnership.

The two sides’ cooperation in economy, trade, investment, and tourism continues to show success.

Vietnam-China trade reached US$175.56 billion in 2022 and $171.9 billion last year.

Chinese investors channeled $4.47 billion into over 700 projects in Vietnam in 2023.

Currently, China ranks as Vietnam's fourth-largest investor in terms of registered capital and holds the top position in terms of the number of projects undertaken.
