Two 10-year-old children were confirmed dead by drowning while two others remain unaccounted for after they swam in the Ba River in Phu Yen Province, south-central Vietnam on Tuesday afternoon.
Colonel Bui Xuan Chien, head of the police in Tay Hoa District, Phu Yen Province, said the same day that local rescuers were striving to find the two missing victims.

Four of them, namely M., K., T., and Tr., were swimming in the river when they were swept away by rushing water.
The remaining two onshore shouted for help but their four friends went missing.
By 5:00 pm on the same day, local authorities already found the bodies of M. and T. and were seeking K. and Tr., said secretary of the Tay Hoa District Party Committee Ngo Dinh Thien.
